Alpha Chi Omega was founded in 1885 and is now a network of more than 230,000 women across the nation. Our sisters are genuine women choosing a fun and meaningful way to enhance their college experience and build lifelong friendships. ABOUT DELTA OMICRON CHAPTER
Delta Omicron is the chapter name of Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Portland State University. Delta Omicron was founded on May 13, 1961 and ever since has been a community of real, strong women at who are devoted to enriching the lives of all members through friendship, leadership, learning and service. Alpha Chi Omegas volunteer their time and raise funds for their national philanthropy, domestic violence awareness. Along with philanthropic efforts, Alpha Chi Omegas enjoy social events, leadership development and more.
HOW TO JOIN
Alpha Chi Omega at Portland State welcomes new members throughout the year, beginning with Fall Formal Recruitment (FFR). The majority of members join through this formal recruitment process. You can also join Alpha Chi Omega during continuous open bidding (COB). This is when the chapter spends time getting to know prospective Alpha Chi Omegas in informal settings, like philanthropy events, coffee dates, or campus activities. . WHO WE LOOK FOR
We look for strong, kind, and responsible women. Alpha Chi Omega seeks new members who meet our five membership standards: academic interest, character, financial responsibility, leadership ability, and personal development. Overall, membership in Alpha Chi Omega must be mutual. Our recruitment processes helps us get to know women we think might be a good fit, while prospective members get to learn more about us and decide if we’re the organization for them. It’s important for both sides to feel like we’re a good match.
